Goxhill

North Lincolnshire comprises of many large villages and Goxhill is one of them. Goxhill enjoys a location that is about 5 miles towards the east of Barton-on-Humber and 5 miles towards the northwest of Immingham. Due to the fact that it is easily commutable from the major South Bank of the Humber industrial areas, Goxhill has always been a popular tourist destination.

Since the 18th century, Goxhill has served as an important center for clay pantile production. Now this industry is represented in this village by Sandtoft. Goxhill has its share in wartime history too. It was an American Air force base during World War II.

Goxhill like other European countries lies in the Western European Timezone. East Halton, New Holland, Ulceby, Barrow, Hull, Wootton, Thornton Curtis, Kingston upon Hull and Barrow on Humber are some of the nearby cities of Goxhill.

With a population of about 1,994 people, Goxhill is a village still close to nature. Nature lovers can expect to view several landscapes in Goxhill during a tour. Many call Goxhill a bird watcher's paradise. Apart from bird watching, one can enjoy bicycling and hiking in Goxhill. This village covers 5860 acres of land and is therefore considered as a fair-sized parish in North Lincolnshire.

Goxhill is also known as a part of the civil parish of Hatfield. One of the places worth visiting in Goxhill includes the Church of All Saints belonging to the 15th century. As the name suggests, this Anglican parish church is dedicated to All Saints. In this parish one can also visit the chapels of the Baptists, Primitive Methodists and Wesleyan Methodists. Goxhill Hall and the nearby Thornton Abbey dating back to the reign of Henry 8th are some other places that one can explore in Goxhill.
